{"id":152501,"date":"2025-10-13T09:43:22","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T14:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=152501"},"modified":"2025-10-13T09:44:02","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T14:44:02","slug":"jurors-from-madison-county-to-be-selected-for-murder-trial-in-lafayette-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/jurors-from-madison-county-to-be-selected-for-murder-trial-in-lafayette-county\/","title":{"rendered":"Jurors from Madison County to be selected for Murder Trial in Lafayette County"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Lafayette County<\/strong> court has granted\u00a0the motion for an out-of-county jury selection\u00a0to <strong>Timothy Herrington Jr.<\/strong>, the suspected murderer of <strong>Ole Miss<\/strong> student <strong>Jimmy \u201cJay\u201d Lee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to court documents, the judge has granted Herrington\u2019s motion, which will allow the jury to be picked from <strong>Madison County<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In early February, Herrington was newly-indicted on a two-count capital murder charge connected to the death of Lee after Lee\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/the-oxford-police-department-and-carroll-county-sheriffs-office-have-confirmed-the-recovery-of-the-remains-of-jimmie-jay-lee\/\">remains were identified<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new trial date is set for December 1, 2025.
