Theatre Oxford<\/strong>\u2019s Split In Three<\/em> takes us to the Mississippi Delta<\/strong> in 1969 as two sisters, both white, discover they have a mixed-raced sibling. The October 17-18, 2025 Powerhouse <\/strong>production features a panel Saturday with four Oxonians<\/strong> who experienced school integration first hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme Court<\/strong> has put its foot down, it\u2019s 1969, and in this Mississippi Delta county, segregation must end. Amid the political and social upheaval, poor white sisters Nola and Nell, one grounded in cynicism and the other by faith, live their day-to-day lives until they discover a mixed-race, highly educated sister they never knew they had. Can difference turn out to be a saving grace in a place where separation has long begotten isolation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed by Jennifer Mizenko<\/strong> and written by Daryl Lisa Fazio<\/strong>, this production features a fabulous cast: Susan Bradley, Tori Hutchinson, Emily Hilliard, Ward Sikma<\/strong>, and Kyrus Scott<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FREE PANEL DISCUSSION: DESEGREGATION IN LAFAYETTE COUNTY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at The Powerhouse<\/strong>, a panel discussion on desegregation in Lafayette County<\/strong> and Oxford City Schools<\/strong> will take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panelists will include four local veterans of that desegregation: Jimmy McGlawn, Karen Peairs, John Cofield,<\/strong> and Kaye Bryant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
