A private plane crashed shortly after taking off from the University-Oxford Airport<\/strong> Thursday afternoon, the University of Mississippi<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 1:15 Thursday afternoon, the university said, the plane crashed “shortly after takeoff,” and the two people on board were airlifted to area hospitals for treatment. The university said they did not have any information on their condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university said the Ole Miss<\/strong> airport has been closed due to the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board<\/strong> and the Federal Aviation Administration<\/strong> will investigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
