On August 19, 2025, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong> received a report of vandalism on a vehicle that occurred sometime in the night of August 16, 2025 into the early morning of August 17, 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicle was parked on the Oxford<\/strong> Square <\/strong>near Lafayette County Circuit Court<\/strong>. The damage to the vehicle was appraised at over $1000.00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an investigation was conducted, a warrant was obtained on September 2, 2025 for Mariya Fondren<\/strong> (20 years old, Female) of Batesville, Mississippi <\/strong>for Malicious Mischief over $1000.00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fondren was located in Batesville on September 3, 2025. Fondren was transported back to Lafayette County<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fondren appeared before a Justice Court Judge<\/strong> on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 and was issued a $5,000.00 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
