{"id":151599,"date":"2025-09-03T15:34:54","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T20:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=151599"},"modified":"2025-09-03T15:34:55","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T20:34:55","slug":"knife-assault-on-county-road-287-leads-to-arrest-of-oxford-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/knife-assault-on-county-road-287-leads-to-arrest-of-oxford-man\/","title":{"rendered":"Knife Assault on County Road 287 Leads to Arrest of Oxford Man"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On August 30, 2025, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office received a report of an assault on <strong>County Road 287<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After an investigation was conducted, the victim had sustained an injury to his face from a knife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steven Lawerence Dukes<\/strong> 45 years old of <strong>Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>, was identified as the suspect. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Dukes on August 30, 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputies located Steven Dukes on August 31, 2025, and he was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dukes appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and was issued a $50,000.00 bond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dukes is currently being held at the <strong>Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong> on a hold for the <strong>Mississippi Department of Corrections<\/strong> for a probation violation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
