Event to help promote and support adult education and workforce training efforts for lower-income Mississippians across the state<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

2nd Chance MS<\/a><\/strong> is thrilled to announce the return of its signature\u00a0fundraiser, the \u201cParty on the Green,\u201d<\/strong> taking place on\u00a0Thursday, September 11, 2025<\/strong>, at 5:30 pm<\/strong>. The event\u00a0will be hosted at The Isom Place<\/strong>, located at 1003 Jefferson Avenue, on the charming historic square in Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now celebrating a decade of life-changing work, 2nd Chance MS continues its mission to promote and support adult education and workforce training for lower-income adults in Mississippi. By partnering with the state\u2019s 15 community colleges, the organization funds programs that eliminate barriers for motivated students seeking to earn their High School Equivalency or workforce certifications. Through initiatives like tuition, transportation, and technology assistance, as well as funding for testing, licensing, and supplies, 2nd Chance MS has empowered over 2,500 individuals to pursue education and career success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are excited to be holding our seventh annual \u2018Party on the Green\u2019 fundraiser again this year in Oxford,\u201d said Zach Scruggs<\/strong>, Executive Director of 2nd Chance MS.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCorporate and individual sponsorships of\u00a0this event are critical to our ability to\u00a0continue providing needed support to\u00a0hardworking lower-income adult students\u00a0throughout Mississippi. We hope everyone\u00a0will be able to support us on September 11\u00a0so that we can all make this year\u2019s event\u00a0the best one yet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening promises to be a memorable celebration, featuring live music, exquisite food provided by My Michelle\u2019s<\/strong>, an open bar, and a silent auction brimming with unique and highly sought-after items. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward funding the students and programs supported by 2nd Chance MS.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its inception, the organization has made a profound impact, helping 1,146 individuals achieve their High School\u00a0Equivalency, 650 earn Employable Workforce\u00a0Credentials, and 876 obtain Career Readiness\u00a0Credentials, giving them the opportunity to\u00a0step out of poverty and into meaningful\u00a0careers within Mississippi\u2019s thriving workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2015, 2nd Chance MS is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by supporting adult education and workforce training programs.
