On August 14, 2025, Investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong> received information from the Lafayette County Detention Center regarding a plan for an escape attempt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the investigation, Investigators spoke with witnesses and gathered information regarding the plot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the investigation, Mark Montgomery<\/strong>, 48 years old of Greenville, Mississippi<\/strong>, was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime (Escape or Attempted Escape). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christina Willis<\/strong>, an inmate currently being housed in the Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong>, was also charged with conspiracy to Commit a Crime (Escape or Attempted Escape). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Montgomery appeared before a Justice Court Judge<\/strong> on Saturday, August 16, 2025, and was issued a $50,000.00 bond. Montgomery is currently being held at the Detention Center awaiting additional Federal Charges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Willis\u2019 charges were added to her original bond, however she is being held pending a Bond Hearing for her original charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
