On July 11, 2025, around 4:11 pm, a Parking and Code Enforcement Officer with the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> observed a verbal altercation on North Lamar Boulevard<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the officer approached, the suspect, later identified as Mitchell Wren<\/strong>, 23, of Tupelo, Mississippi<\/strong>, attempted to flee the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was located shortly by responding patrol officers while trying to leave Oxford<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An investigation revealed that Wren had been cyberstalking and harassing a victim. He was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center, where he was given a bond by a Municipal Court Judge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 14, 2025, after posting bond, Wren violated a domestic abuse protection order by continuing to text and call the victim. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An arrest warrant was issued, and he was later taken into custody by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department<\/strong>. He is currently being held in Monroe County until he can be released into the custody of the Oxford Police Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This case remains under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
