Boyce joins committee overseeing conference finances and operations<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

University of Mississippi Chancellor Glenn Boyce<\/strong> has been named to the Southeastern Conference Executive Committee<\/strong>. His two-year term\u00a0began Tuesday, July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks Boyce’s first time serving on the\u00a0SEC<\/a>\u00a0Executive Committee, which includes three officers and four elected representatives. Elected members include a university president or chancellor, an athletics director, a senior woman administrator, and a faculty athletics representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is an honor to serve on the executive committee and a great opportunity to represent Ole Miss<\/a> in this important role,” Boyce said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure the SEC continues to set the standard for excellence in collegiate athletics.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The committee approves the SEC’s annual operating budget and oversees its financial and fiscal affairs as administered by the commissioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SEC also announced University of Tennessee Chancellor Donde Plowman<\/strong> as committee president and University of Missouri President Mun Choi <\/strong>as vice president. Texas A&M<\/strong> faculty athletics representative Paul Batista<\/strong> will serve as secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joining Boyce on the committee are Josh Brooks<\/strong>, director of athletics at the University of Georgia; Chris Janelle<\/strong>, faculty athletics representative at the University of Florida; and Rachel Newman Baker<\/strong>, executive associate athletics director and senior woman administrator at the University of Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boyce has served as UM chancellor since 2019, leading the university through record growth in enrollment and fundraising, along with major campus improvements such as the\u00a0Jim and Thomas Duff Center for Science and Technology Innovation<\/strong><\/a>. In 2024, the NCAA appointed Boyce to its board of governors and board of directors, where he represents the SEC on national athletics policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
