Clarksdale, Mississippi<\/strong>, blues singer Edna Nicole<\/strong> will be the featured musical act at the Summer Sunset Series<\/strong> in The Grove<\/strong> on Sunday, June 22 at 6 pm<\/strong>. Admission is free and the public is invited. Lawn chairs are encouraged. The Grove is located at 1848 University Ave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert is a \u201cThacker Mountain Radio Hour Music Showcase\u201d<\/strong> which highlights a recent guest on the long-running Oxford staple. While not a Thacker Mountain Radio Hour<\/em> show, the Thacker team will have a table set up in the Grove on Sunday for t-shirts, caps, and membership sign-ups. Live Thacker shows resume Thursday, September 4 at The Powerhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edna Nicole is a singer, songwriter (and published author!) from Clarksdale who is also an Ole Miss<\/strong> graduate. Her recent single is \u201cDelta Dirt.\u201d Her book is The Journey<\/strong><\/em>, a collection of true stories of accomplishment by women in the North Mississippi region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edna can currently be heard on \u201cReady For Times to Get Better,\u201d a new song by blues harmonica great, Charlie Musselwhite<\/strong>. The track appears on Musselwhite\u2019s just-released album, Look Out Highway<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singer is fresh off a well-received set in front of a jam-packed, international crowd at Red\u2019s Juke Joint<\/strong> in Clarksdale. Her performance was part of the Clarksdale screening of the hit film, Sinners<\/strong>, <\/em>and <\/em>earned her special mention from Oxford American<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mother of three, Edna is also the owner of Suga Mama\u2019s Sweets<\/strong> in Oxford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summer Sunset Series is a community event made possible through a collaboration of Visit Oxford<\/strong>, Yoknapatawpha Arts Council<\/strong>, the Center for the Study of Southern Culture<\/strong>, the Gertrude C. Ford Center for Performing Arts<\/strong>, the University of Mississippi Museum<\/strong>, and Thacker Mountain Radio Hour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 Summer Sunset Series kicked off on the first Sunday in June and will conclude on Sunday, June 29 at 6 pm with the band, Kingdomology<\/strong>. More information on the concert series: https:\/\/www.oxfordarts.com\/<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
