The Friends of the Oxford Police Department<\/strong>, in continued partnership with the Oxford Police Department<\/strong>, is proud to announce the expansion of its scholarship program to include all eligible K-12 students of OPD employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on the success of the inaugural three college scholarship awarded earlier this year, the organization is now investing in the future of the department\u2019s youngest family members. A total of 72 K-12 students will each receive a scholarship to be placed into individual 529 Educational Savings Accounts, offering tax-free growth and long-term educational benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis initiative is about more than financial support; it’s about recognizing the families who serve alongside our officers,\u201d said Chief Jeff McCutchen<\/strong>. \u201cBy helping these children prepare for their future, we are investing in education, stability, and community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s expanded support exceeds original fundraising goals and represents the organization\u2019s commitment to growing the program annually. OPD currently has 72 children in the K-12 age group. With three already receiving college scholarships, this phase ensures the students are included in the scholarship program to support education at all levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the public interested in supporting this initiative can make donations. Every contribution makes a difference in the lives of these deserving families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
