On May 16, 2025, a Lafayette County Sheriff Deputy<\/strong>, while on patrol, observed a Dodge Charger<\/strong> with an expired tag and driving carelessly traveling Highway 6<\/strong> East west bound. The Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the Dodge Charger did not pull over and took evasive maneuvers to evade law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputies pursued the vehicle for a period of time until the Dodge Charger came to a stop in the 1700 Block of Highway 30<\/strong> in Union County<\/strong>. The driver of the vehicle, Zequavian Lequan Knox<\/strong> (black male 25 years old) of Belden, Mississippi<\/strong>, was taken into custody and transported to Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knox was booked on Failure to Stop Motor Vehicle When Officer Signals (Felony) and Expired tag and was given a $10,000 bond set by the justice court. Knox is also being held on detainers prior to extradition for active warrants with Clayton County, Georgia, Lonoke County, Alaska<\/strong>, and Pontotoc County, <\/strong>Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
