\"ThackerFairPoster\"<\/a>Thacker Mountain Radio<\/strong><\/em>, the Oxford-based music and literature program that features author readings and musical performances, returns to the Neshoba County Fair on Saturday, July 26 at 8 pm at the Founder\u2019s Square Pavilion. Guests will include bestselling \u201cSweet Potato Queen\u201d author, Jill Conner Browne<\/strong>, blues pianist Eden Brent<\/strong> and blues guitarist Vasti Jackson<\/strong>. The show is hosted by Jim Dees<\/strong> and house band, the Yalobushwhackers<\/strong>. The one-hour Fair show will not be a live broadcast but will be recorded for future air on Mississippi Public Broadcasting. Following Thacker<\/em> at 9 pm, the Vasti Jackson Band<\/strong> will play a one-hour concert at the Pavilion. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"JillConnerBrown\"<\/a>Jill Conner Browne is \u201cAmerica\u2019s #1 Humor Writer,\u201d according to Nielsen BookScan, a retail book sales monitoring service. She records on the independent Yellow Dog Records label and her CDs include Mississippi Number One, Ain\u2019t Got No Troubles<\/em> (recorded in New Orleans) and her latest, Jigsaw Heart<\/em>, which was recorded in Nashville. Brent is a three-time Blues Award winner who toured and played with former Motown session musician, Abie \u201cBoogaloo\u201d Ames<\/strong>, who helped her hone her unique piano style.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"VastiJackson\"<\/a>Guitarist Vasti Jackson began playing in the churches and juke joints in his native McComb and now plays festivals, concerts, and theatres around the world. He recently wrapped a world tour as part of the \u201cPlaying For Change\u201d musical troupe. His CDs include No Borders to the Blues<\/em>, Live in Nashville<\/em> and Mississippi Burner<\/em>. Jackson was recently featured in the HBO series, Treme<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n
