The Thacker Mountain Radio Hour <\/strong>will perform its show in Taylor, Mississippi<\/strong>, this week, Thursday, March 13 at 6 pm<\/strong>. The venue will be Wonderbird Spirits Distillery<\/strong> at 618 County Road 303 (aka Old Taylor Road). Admission is free and the public is invited. Plenty of free parking available. Doors will open at 5:30 and refreshments will be sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performers for the Taylor show will include bestselling author, Sanjena Sathian<\/strong> (Goddess Complex<\/strong><\/em>), blues dynamos Heartbreak Hill<\/strong> and Memphis guitarist\/songwriter Lina Beach<\/strong>. Hosts of the show are Jim Dees<\/strong> with house band, Paul Tate & The Yalobushwhackers<\/strong>. Due to spring break, there will be no live broadcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sanjeana Sathian’s novel, Goddess Complex<\/em>, is a biting examination of millennial adulthood, self-care influencers, optimization cults, internet mommy gurus, egg freezing, and much more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a glowing <\/em>review last week, The New York Times<\/em> wrote, \u201cHaunting and hilarious, Goddess Complex <\/em>is at once a satire, a Gothic tale, a novel of ideas, a character study. Like any individual life, the book bristles with possibilities.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Square Books will be on hand with a table of Sanjena\u2019s books for sale and signing. Sathian is co-adapting her previous novel, the bestselling Gold Diggers<\/strong><\/em>, as a film for Mindy Kaling<\/strong>\u2019s production company, Kaling International<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lina Beach is a Colombian American singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Franklin, Tennessee<\/strong>, now based in Memphis<\/strong>. After graduating from Rhodes College, Lina became an intern at Royal Studios<\/strong> (Al Green, Bobby \u201cBlue\u201d Bland) with producer, Lawrence \u201cBoo\u201d Mitchell<\/strong>. She has now become the newest member of the legendary Hi Rhythm Section<\/strong> and tours the world with them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lina is currently at work on her debut solo album, Little Sanities<\/em>, to be recorded at Royal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Carolina’s blues\/rockers Nikki<\/strong> and Matt Hill <\/strong>have honed their gritty blues\/rock\/punk style after years living in musical Mississippi River towns such as St. Louis, New Orleans, and, currently, Memphis. Their releases include Heavy Hearts Hard Fists<\/em> and Feline Roots<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next Thursday, March 20, at 6 pm, the show returns to the Powerhouse Arts Center <\/strong>in Oxford. Guests will include songwriter, Claire Holley<\/strong>, cigar-box guitar musician Bear Ryan<\/strong> and author Jeff Barry <\/strong>(Go to Hell Ole Miss<\/em><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
