A new addition to this year\u2019s event, the Oxford Film Festival<\/strong> is highlighting alumni films in a series of film screenings leading up to the main festival in February. The next event on December 11, 2024, showcases the work of filmmaker Cady McClain<\/strong>. Audiences can enjoy a free screening of \u201cSeeing Is Believing,\u201d followed by a Q&A session with McClain.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film screening is at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 11 at Malco Oxford Commons<\/strong>,\u00a0206 Commonwealth Blvd. in Oxford<\/strong>. Admission is free, but registration is required at\u00a0www.ox-film.com<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeeing Is Believing: Women Direct<\/a>\u201d is a documentary film that emphasizes the opportunity for\u00a0women to use their voice through media to change the social and political landscape and achieve full equality. Focusing on inspiring and uplifting young female storytellers through the\u00a0mentorship and leadership of four diverse directors, \u201cSeeing is Believing\u201d opens the conversation up to ask \u201cWhat is the broader role of storytelling in our society and how can\u00a0women use filmed media as a unique opportunity to catalyze progress?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cady McClain is a three-time Emmy award-winning actress with multiple film, television, and theater credits. She is the artistic director at Axial Theatre<\/strong> in Pleasantville, New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 22nd Oxford Film Festival is February 27 to March 2, 2025, at the\u00a0Malco Oxford Commons Cinema in Oxford. The\u00a0festival exhibits more than 100 films from across the globe that seek to provide the audience with a transformative viewing experience.\u00a0A celebration of independent film and filmmakers, this year\u2019s event focuses on story, storytelling and storytellers.
