{"id":142728,"date":"2024-09-16T13:52:21","date_gmt":"2024-09-16T18:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=142728"},"modified":"2024-09-16T13:52:23","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T18:52:23","slug":"school-of-pharmacy-announces-operation-immunization-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/school-of-pharmacy-announces-operation-immunization-dates\/","title":{"rendered":"School of Pharmacy Announces Operation Immunization Dates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flu shots available to faculty, staff and students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">by Natalie Ehrhardt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With flu season on the way, the <strong>University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy<\/strong> has announced dates and locations for this year&#8217;s <strong>Operation Immunization<\/strong> flu vaccine initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campuswide initiative to offer <strong>flu vaccines<\/strong> to Ole Miss students, faculty and staff is coordinated by the UM chapter of the <strong>American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve taken on the Operation Immunization chair position this year because of my passion for patient care and my desire to enhance my skills in this area,&#8221; said <strong>Lindsey Poirot<\/strong>, a second-year professional student from New Athens, Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This role is an amazing opportunity to contribute to the patient outcomes of our peers on campus. I&#8217;m also excited to help connect APhA-ASP members to meaningful volunteer opportunities on campus and watch our student pharmacists grow their patient care skills.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dates and locations for this year&#8217;s Operation Immunization are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sept. 17, 1-4 pm: Thad Cochran Research Center atrium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sept. 18, 10 am-3 pm: South Oxford Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sept. 25, 2-4 pm: Business Row (Galtney-Lott Plaza)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oct. 8, 10 am-3 pm: the Circle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oct. 22, 10 am-3 pm: Grove stage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oct. 24, 10 am-3 pm: Grove stage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who wish to receive the vaccine should bring their Ole Miss ID and prescription insurance card.
