Doors of Hope <\/strong>has been selected to participate in the prestigious Lafayette Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow<\/strong>‘s (LOFT) Night for Nonprofits. This annual event brings together local community nonprofits to celebrate their work and present innovative project proposals that align with one of LOFT\u2019s five pillars of support: education, health and human services, arts and culture, community improvement, and municipal support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Night for Nonprofits <\/strong>event will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center<\/strong>. The 9th Annual Night for Nonprofits will begin with an exhibition hour. Guests will have the opportunity to browse displays and tables set up to showcase the work that local nonprofits are performing in the community. \u201cWe designed this event so that community members could participate in the awards\u201d, shared LOFT President Dr. Jody Holland, \u201c and this year community members will have two opportunities to help award funds to deserving projects.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in LOFT\u2019s Night for Nonprofits,\u201d said Mary Margaret Andrews, executive director for Doors Of Hope. \u201cThis platform allows us to showcase our project and its potential to alleviate homelessness in the Oxford-Lafayette area. Being selected highlights the importance of our work and brings us closer to achieving our mission of helping families at-risk of homelessness gain self sufficiency. We look forward to engaging with the community and gaining the support needed to make this vision a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All nonprofits taking part in the Night for Nonprofits will be competing for a $500 Crowd Favorite Award. Attendees will each receive a voting ticket at the door and will vote for the nonprofit they wish to win \u201cCrowd Favorite.\u201d Additional voting tickets may be purchased online or at the door for $10. Alongside the Crowd Favorite award, community members have the opportunity to support nonprofit organizations by submitting words of affirmation. The nonprofit with the most affirmations will receive the $500 Good Works Award. Following the social hour, LOFT will announce grant awards and the “Crowd Favorite” as well as the \u201cGood Works\u201d Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
