Nonprofit to Offer Weekly Hot Meal, Toiletries, and Tutoring at Central Elementary School, Beginning August 6<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

More Than A Meal (MTAM)<\/strong>, a beloved nonprofit dedicated to providing weekly hot meals, essential toiletries, and tutoring services in the Oxford, Miss.<\/strong>, community, is excited to celebrate the start of a new school year and resume operations on\u00a0August 6, 2024<\/strong>. The organization is ready to welcome back students and community members to its new location at Central Elementary School, located at\u00a0409 Washington Ave. <\/strong>in Oxford, MS, every Tuesday evening from 5 to 6:30 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For fourteen years, More Than A Meal has been a cornerstone of the Oxford community, offering much-needed support and resources to individuals and families. The new location marks a significant milestone in the organization\u2019s mission to enhance the lives of those they serve by providing a welcoming environment where community members can access nutritious meals, personal care items, and educational support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMoving to Central Elementary School will allow us to better serve the Oxford community with increased space and improved facilities,\u201d said Sarah Beth Gary<\/strong>, executive director of More Than a Meal. \u201cWe are thrilled to be back in session with the new school year, and we look forward to continuing our work of making a positive impact on the lives of our community members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each week, MTAM offers a hot meal, toiletries, and tutoring services for all ages in the Oxford-Lafayette County community<\/strong>, supplied by generous donors and volunteers. MTAM provides a safe and welcoming space where people can come together, share a meal, and feel seen and supported, while building a sense of community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen we started More Than a Meal in 2010, Oxford was much smaller and didn\u2019t have a soup kitchen or a place for people from all walks of life to come together over a warm meal,\u201d said founder Kristy Bridgers<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s been really special to see how it\u2019s been embraced by our community. It\u2019s a place where you can come as you are; everyone is welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
