Hoka Days: A Month of Community Events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

August is brimming with a variety of exciting events for the community, ranging from free to ticketed, and catering to all interests. Secret pop-up events will be revealed throughout the month\u2014visit the website for updates. Hoka Days<\/strong> includes performing arts events, the visual arts-focused Sanctuary Art Festival<\/strong>, and the Bit of the Sip<\/strong> drink and food weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sanctuary Art Festival is August 2\u20133<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Sanctuary Art Festival on August 2 and 3 features an Artist Meet-Up and Reception<\/strong> at Oxford Treehouse Gallery<\/strong> hosted by Walter<\/strong> and Vivian Neill<\/strong> on Friday from 6\u20138 pm, with refreshments and additional gallery visits available on Saturday. On August 3, join the White Linen Pop-Up Event<\/strong> from 4\u20136 pm at Exploradora Coffee<\/strong> for a white linen art crawl with bites from My Michelle’s<\/strong>, a specialty cocktail from High Cotton<\/strong>, and tunes by DJ PW Francis<\/strong>. The festival culminates in the Artist Storytelling Contest<\/strong> from 6\u20138 pm at The Oliver<\/strong>, where artists share the stories behind their works, with the audience voting for a favorite to win a $500 prize, accompanied by complimentary cocktails from Cathead Vodka<\/strong> and small bites by Joel Miller<\/strong>, Executive Chef at Kingswood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bit of the Sip: A New Drink and Food Event August 9th-11th<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bit of the Sip event celebrates Lafayette County’s dynamic culinary scene through a series of pop-up culinary events, cocktail classes, and special gatherings from August 9\u201311. The weekend kicks off with the Iron Bartender <\/strong>competition at The Powerhouse<\/strong> on August 9 at 6 pm. On August 10, activities include a Hospitality Law Workshop<\/strong>, Knead Your Cure Wellness Workshop<\/strong>, Exploradora Coffee Recovery<\/strong>, Farmstead BBQ Lunch<\/strong> with Delta Meat Market<\/strong>, a Wine and Cheese Class<\/strong> with sommelier Eric Railsback<\/strong>, a Wonderbird Tour and Tasting<\/strong>, and a Cigar and Port Class<\/strong>. The event concludes on August 11 with a Wildfire in Wonderland Hot Sauce Class<\/strong> and a Circle and Square Brewery Tour and Tasting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire month’s events are organized to showcase the arts and their various formats within our community. The goal is to engage the Oxford-Lafayette community and inform them about the diverse multitude of events the Arts Council produces, over 320 events annually!
