Prosecutors and defense attorneys requested a judge seal future court filings in an Oxford, Mississippi <\/strong>capital murder case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timothy Herrington Jr.<\/strong> is awaiting trial in the death of former Ole Miss<\/strong> student Jimmie “Jay” Lee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorneys for both sides claim that closing the case to public view is the only way Herrington can receive a fair trial in Lafayette County<\/strong> because of the pre-trial publicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxford Police<\/strong> accused Herrington of killing Lee in 2022 to keep their sexual relationship a secret \u2014 an accusation he denies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no word on what a judge will rule on the motion, as well as the defense\u2019s request for a change of venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
