From January 3, 2024 to July 1, 2024 the Lafayette County Sheriff Office<\/strong> has taken several reports of stolen AT&T utility wire throughout Lafayette County<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through an investigation several persons of interest were developed from people scrapping copper wire in North Mississippi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 3, 2024, 47 year old Kevin Smith<\/strong> of Sardis, Mississippi <\/strong>and 37 year old Lisa Nissen<\/strong> of Batesville <\/strong>were arrested on a traffic stop on South Lamar Boulevard<\/strong>.\u00a0 39 year old Timothy Nissen<\/strong> of Batesville, Lisa Nissen, and Kevin Smith were subsequently charged for Grand Larceny from the investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin and Timothy were issued a $25,000 dollar bond and Lisa was issued a $15,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is still an ongoing investigation with several counties in North Mississippi. If you have any information on utility wire theft please call the Lafayette County Sheriff Office (662-234-6421) or your local law enforcement agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
