C&M Package Store<\/strong> was a student mainstay for many semesters. And being the closest store of spirits to the communities south of town meant that business was always brisk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Gale and I rented from him (Oxford Police Department Assistant Chief H.C. Franklin) for 17 years. We started out with C&M Package Store and later took over Yerk\u2019s lease after Bob had to move back home to take care of his mother. Miss Jimmy, H.C.\u2019s wife, offered Franklin\u2019s Country Store to us so she could retire and we took it over.” \u2014Wayne Loner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
