Third edition of special event to raise funds to support music education initiatives of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Award-winning singer\/songwriters\u00a0Ashley Cleveland<\/strong>,\u00a0Karen Staley<\/strong>,\u00a0Carrie Tillis<\/strong>, and\u00a0Tricia Walker<\/strong>\u00a0will come together for a special evening of songs and stories at\u00a0GRAMMY Museum\u00ae\u00a0Mississippi<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0Tuesday, July 16, at 7 p.m<\/strong>. This group of talented artists, three of whom are part of the original Women in the Round, will perform \u201cBluebird Cafe style\u201d for\u00a0Big Night with Women in the Round<\/strong>, sponsored by\u00a0SouthGroup Insurance<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Visit Mississippi<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to continue our Big Night with Women in the Round series this year and invite four incredibly talented singers and songwriters to our museum for what is sure to be an incredible evening of music,\u201d said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi<\/strong>. \u201cThe contributions these talented artists have made to American music history are indelible, and we can\u2019t wait to have them here to share their music and stories of their prolific careers.”  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ashley Cleveland, Karen Staley and Tricia Walker were members of the talented foursome that was the first female \u201cin the round\u201d group at the Bluebird Cafe<\/strong>, one of the world\u2019s preeminent listening rooms, located in Nashville<\/strong>. Their first show together was in 1988 and they have continued to perform together for select dates over the years. This performance at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi will feature the songwriters swapping stories and taking turns playing their songs and accompanying each other instrumentally and with harmony vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women in the Round, a part of the Museum\u2019s Big Night program series, will take place on Tuesday, July 16. Tickets for the fundraiser will go on sale to members on June 11, 2024, and to the public on June 15. Tickets are $100 for members and $125 for nonmembers and include a pre-event reception starting at 6 p.m. Funds raised from the event will go directly to support the education programs of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi.
