The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks<\/strong>\u2019 Mississippi Museum of Natural Science<\/strong> will host World Snake Day<\/strong> on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 10:00am until 2:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt World Snake Day, you can see and touch live snakes, learn the value of Mississippi\u2019s native snakes<\/strong>, and learn how to distinguish venomous from non-venomous snakes,\u201d explains Museum Director Charles Knight<\/strong>. Museum educators and research scientists will be on site with live snakes ready to answer your questions. There will also be ongoing crafts and educational activities about snakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is also Scout friendly. Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi<\/strong> will earn the \u201cMDWFP<\/strong> Museum of Natural Science Snake Day Patch<\/strong>\u201d while Boy Scouts<\/strong> will fulfill multiple requirements for their \u201cReptile and Amphibian Merit Badge<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets can be purchased online<\/a> or at the door and are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (60+), $6 for youth (3-18), and free for youth under age three.
