an\u2019 jeans an\u2019 boots an\u2019 sometimes
a worn-out pair of chaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
He\u2019d pitch a lot of hay,
\u2018cause workin\u2019 morn to evenin\u2019,
well, that\u2019s just the cowboy way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d love to ride the range,
roundin\u2019 up them dogies
even in the rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d eat his share of beans.
It\u2019d be a Blazing Saddles night,
(If you know what I mean).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
after a big trail ride
he\u2019d drink himself the coldest beer
and have a real good time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d be a perfect shot.
Wouldn\u2019t be no gunslinger
but still don\u2019t call him out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d be the bestest kind,
always good to children
and widows and the blind.
If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d sleep under the stars.
He\u2019d know the constellations
and thrill at shootin\u2019 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d look up to the moon
an\u2019 wonder if somebody there was
lookin\u2019 at him too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d love the dawn of day.
The painted sky and rising sun
would call on him to pray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d bow with hat in hand,
an\u2019 mumble a few words
only God could understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d put his hat back on,
and join the cattle drivers,
still a long, long way from home.
If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d know the Indians.
They\u2019d know that Wakantanka
lived inside of him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he might not go to church.
His church was open spaces
and the wonders of the worlds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d reach to shake your hand
no matter what your color,
he\u2019d want to be a friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d help the one\u2019s that\u2019s hurt
and give them healing words of peace,
then lift them from the dirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
when he went to sleep at night,
he\u2019d smile an\u2019 dream of things unseen
until the morning light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Jesus was a cowboy
he\u2019d greet a brand new day,
saddle up, move the dogies.
That\u2019s just the cowboy way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
