On May 27, 2024, the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong> responded to the Tula Community<\/strong> for a report of a domestic incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputies began speaking with the individuals involved in the assault and determined that the primary aggressor, Dakota Bowen<\/strong> 27 years old of Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>, had assaulted a female individual. Dakota was arrested for Domestic Violence Simple Assault. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the assault, it was determined that Bowen was in possession of a butcher knife. Bowen is a previously convicted felon for aggravated assault from June of 2016. Bowen was subsequently charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bowen was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong> without incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Bowen appeared before a Justice Court Judge<\/strong> and given a $15,000.00 bond. This bond was revoked due to Bowen being on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections<\/strong>. A hold was placed on Bowen by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Bowen is currently being held in the Lafayette County Detention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
