Brooke Bumgarner Wins the Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen 2024 Competition and will compete for Miss America\u2019s Teen in\u00a0 January 2025.<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following a weekend of showcasing talent, interview skills, and community\u00a0 service achievements, one young woman was awarded the title of Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen<\/strong> on Sunday, April 21, 2024,\u00a0 during the state competition in Vicksburg, Mississippi<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooke Bumgarner<\/strong>, 17, arrived in Vicksburg as Miss Pine Belt\u2019s Teen<\/strong>\u00a0and returned to her hometown of Madison<\/strong>, Mississippi, as Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen 2023, winning over $5,000 in cash\u00a0 scholarship assistance. Bumgarner was also named an Evening Wear Preliminary Winner, Overall Evening Wear Winner,\u00a0and the Teens in Action Winner for her community service work dealing with Bullying Prevention and Character Education. As Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen, Brooke, will compete for the national title at the annual Miss America\u2019s Teen<\/strong> competition held in January 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooke, who performed a vocal talent to \u201cSomewhere Over the Rainbow\u201d for the talent competition, is a Senior at\u00a0Madison Central High School<\/strong> where she is a Student Body President, a member of the National Honor Society, National\u00a0 Beta Club, Reveille Show Choir, Mystix Dance Team, and was named Homecoming Queen, and Miss Madison Central High\u00a0 School.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooke\u2019s community service initiative \u201cBullying Prevention and Character Education\u201d focuses on instilling positive\u00a0 character traits in today\u2019s youth through interactive seminars and educational activities. As Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen,\u00a0Brooke, will now travel across the state of Mississippi spreading her message on bullying prevention.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeing Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen means having the opportunity to reach and impact so many people. I have been a part of  the Miss America Program for four years as a local titleholder, but I can\u2019t wait to experience the adventure ahead of me.  I am grateful for this next year of service, and I am so excited to share my story and heart with the state of Mississippi!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooke is excited about the chance to represent Mississippi at the Miss America\u2019s Teen Competition. The primary function\u00a0 of Miss America\u2019s Teen is to serve as an advocate and role model for young women while sharing her passion and life\u00a0story, as well as the legacy of the Miss America and Miss America\u2019s Teen.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBrooke is an exceptional young woman who excelled in all phases of competition,\u201d said Winky Freeman<\/strong> Executive\u00a0Director of Miss Mississippi\u2019s Teen. \u201cThe Miss Mississippi Corporation is proud of all 21 contestants who competed this\u00a0 past weekend. Each one represented her hometown well and demonstrated the bright future of Mississippi. We look\u00a0forward to working with Brooke as she prepares to represent Mississippi at Miss America\u2019s Teen.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Miss Mississippi Corporation awarded $15,550 in cash scholarships to young ladies across Mississippi. Miss Metro Jackson\u2019s Teen, Blake Hart<\/strong> was named First Alternate. Averi Cockrell<\/strong>, Miss Hattiesburg\u2019s Teen was named Second\u00a0 Alternate. Madalyn Sullivan<\/strong>, Miss Oxford\u2019s Teen was named Third Alternate. Avery McNair<\/strong>, Miss Heart of the South\u2019s Teen\u00a0was named Fourth Alternate. The remaining Top Eleven Finalists were Miss Mid South\u2019s Teen, Chloe Braxton<\/strong>, Miss\u00a0Fairpark\u2019s Teen Gracie Weeden<\/strong>, Miss Vicksburg\u2019s Teen, Addie Grace Clay<\/strong>, Miss Meridian\u2019s Teen, Anna Grace Terry<\/strong>, Miss New South\u2019s Teen Ana Holley<\/strong>, and Miss Jones County\u2019s Teen Kyla Pohlmann<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
