The retirees at Sunshine Valley are mad and calling for a revolt! How dare the town council eliminate senior discounts on utilities? That\u2019s the stuff of revolution, and madcap comedy, too, in The Old People are Revolting<\/strong><\/em>, a play written by Devon Williamson<\/strong> that Theatre Oxford<\/strong> will bring to the Powerhouse<\/strong> stage April 19 and 20. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directing the Theatre Oxford production will be Randy Redd<\/strong>, a veteran of both film and theatre with credits on and off Broadway in productions such as Million Dollar Quartet<\/strong><\/em> and Parade<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Old People are Revolting<\/em>, performed in many theaters worldwide, is a play that \u201cshows just how a skillful blend of writer, director, actors, and backstage can produce a comedy that deserves to go on your \u2018must-see\u2019 list,\u201d writes the Hawkes Bay Today <\/em>publication in Hastings, New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doors open at 6 pm for dinner at the April 19 production with the show scheduled for 7:30 pm. The April 20 production is show-only, with one performance at 2 pm and one at 7:30 pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets for the performances without dinner will be $12 for Theatre Oxford members and children, $15 for students and seniors, and $20 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased online until two hours before showtime or at the door if available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner will be catered by Moe\u2019s BBQ<\/strong>. Vegetarian and vegan options will also be provided by Tarasque<\/strong>. Dinner will cost $50 for Theatre Oxford members and children, $60 for seniors and students and $65 for non-members. Guests are also able to purchase alcoholic beverages at concessions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
