\"\"Are you still primarily based in Oxford?<\/span><\/strong> Yes, still primarily based in Oxford town, thankfully so.<\/p>\n

Are you currently on tour?<\/strong><\/span> I just finished a new album, so I won\u2019t be touring much until August.<\/p>\n

Can you tell me a crazy or especially memorable moment from touring in the past year?<\/strong> I got to play \u201cNebraska\u201d on stage with Steve Earle in NYC. That was a special night for me.<\/p>\n

What books are next to your bed right now?<\/strong><\/span> 1Q84<\/em> by Haruki Murakami is by my bed. It\u2019s taking me a minute.<\/p>\n

Your new album is called Blackberry Light<\/em>. How did you choose that name?<\/strong><\/span> I wrote most of the songs in Toluca Lake, California, in the evenings. The light there against the trees in the backyard was always a strange purple…blackberry light.<\/p>\n

\"\"Do you have a release date set?<\/strong><\/span> The release date is August 14th.<\/p>\n

How would you describe its overall feel?<\/strong><\/span> I think of it as the sister record to my last album.<\/p>\n

Have you been listening to any new artists lately that have really impressed you?<\/strong><\/span> I like Head and the Heart\u2019s album that came out last year.<\/p>\n

Are there any cities\/venues that you are really looking forward to returning to?<\/strong><\/span> I love playing in Austin. I always like going back there.<\/p>\n
