On February 13, 2024, the Lafayette County Criminal Investigation Division<\/strong> began an investigation regarding contraband being brought into the Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the investigation, Investigators determined that a Lafayette County Correctional Officer<\/strong> was responsible for introducing contraband items into the jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 15, 2024, Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and search warrant for the residence of Everlean Boston<\/strong>, 49 years old of Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>. Boston was taken into custody at her residence without incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the search of the residence, Investigators discovered evidence of introducing contraband into a correctional facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boston was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. On February 16, 2024, Boston appeared before a Justice Court Judge<\/strong> and was set a $25,000.00 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an ongoing investigation, other charges and arrest are currently pending regarding this case. More information regarding this case will be released at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
