Robrecus Toles is a history PhD candidate at the University of Mississippi researching the United States since the Civil War, African History, and African American History. His dissertation research focuses on the Council of Federated Organizations and the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi between 1961 and 1965. He lives in Mississippi with his wife and three kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toles is a host of New Books Network\u2019s African Studies and African American Studies channels. Episodes that he has hosted include \u201cSpear: Mandela and the Revolutionaries\u201d and \u201cHard-Fighting Soldiers: A History of African American Churches of Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
