The month of events will feature special screenings of films including\u00a0<strong><em>The Little Mermaid<\/em><\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<em>Whitney: I Wanna Dance with Somebody<\/em><\/strong><em>,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<strong><em>The Princess Frog<\/em><\/strong>, plus\u00a0<strong>free admission<\/strong>\u00a0to the Mississippi Museum on Sundays in February and Saturday,\u00a0February 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to mark Black History Month at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi by celebrating historic Black figures and creators through special screenings and events,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong>Emily Havens<\/strong>, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. \u201cWe would also like to thank the Nissan Foundation for their support in making this month-long celebration happen, along with our additional sponsors Maddox Foundation and Visit Mississippi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThrough its exhibits and special programming, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi exemplifies Nissan Foundation\u2019s mission of building community by valuing cultural diversity,\u201d said <strong>Ali Tonn<\/strong>, Executive Director of the <strong>Nissan Foundation<\/strong>. \u201cWe are proud to count GRAMMY Museum Mississippi among our grantees and to support its impactful efforts that celebrate differences, particularly during Black History Month.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A full programming schedule for Black History Month is below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All film screenings are free, and RSVP is not required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Thursday, February 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>10 am: <strong>Backstage Pass with Carla Thomas<\/strong> (free education event)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7 pm: <strong>Spotlight: Carla Thomas<\/strong> (tickets are free for GRAMMY Museum Members and $15 for non-members)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Friday, February 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>6\u20138 p.m.: <strong>Kids Rock the Red Carpe<\/strong>t<br>The Kids Rock the Red Carpet event provides children 12 and under the opportunity to join in the excitement of GRAMMY Week by walking the red carpet to be photographed by the \u201cpaparazzi,\u201d singing along to GRAMMY-winning and -nominated songs during karaoke, and the touring the Museum\u2019s exhibits.\u00a0<br>Tickets are $15 for kids 12 and under and $10 for adults. Food and beverage are included in the price of admission, and rock star apparel is highly encouraged. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
