At age 17, she recorded \u201cCause I Love You\u201d with her father, which became a regional hit and changed the course of music history. She became a national sensation with the 1960 release of her hit \u201cGee Whiz (Look At His Eyes),\u201d which she wrote at the age of 16. More hits followed, including her duet album with Otis Redding,\u00a0<em>King and Queen<\/em>. Today, Carla Thomas remains one of the most lauded icons of soul music, but rarely performs. In 2007, Concord Records released\u00a0<em>Live at the Bohemian Caverns<\/em>, which many consider her finest album. It was recorded live in the prestigious Washington, D.C. jazz club in a performance arranged by then-Stax president Al Bell and soul legend Donny Hathaway. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday, February 2\u00a0<\/strong><br>6 pm: Kids Rock the Red Carpet\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Kids Rock the Red Carpet<\/strong> event provides children 12 and under the opportunity to join in the excitement of GRAMMY Week. The event will take place on Friday from 6\u20138 pm and will begin with the opportunity for kids to walk the red carpet and be photographed by the \u201cpaparazzi,\u201d an opportunity to sing along to GRAMMY-winning and -nominated songs during karaoke, the chance to tour the Museum\u2019s exhibits, and much more. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets are $15 for kids 12 and under and $10 for adults. Food and beverage are included in the price of admission, and rock star apparel is highly encouraged. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
