With Christmas just around the corner, Theatre Oxford<\/strong> is presenting a production of Peppermint Bear and the Toy Elves<\/em> <\/strong>at 6 pm on November 30 and December 1 and at 2 pm and 5 pm on December 2 at the Powerhouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santa and the elves are busy with Christmas planning when a con-artist named Seymour B. Liverworth<\/strong> shows up to sell the elves on his new amusemachine<\/em>. Will the machine revolutionize toy-making or put an end to Christmas?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The play is directed by Ren\u00e9 Pulliam<\/strong> and features music direction by Justin Wadkins<\/strong>. Book and lyrics are by Michael Snider<\/strong> while music and additional lyrics have been produced by Kurt Misar<\/strong>.\u00a0 The production\u2019s sponsors include Neighborhood Realty<\/strong>, the Mississippi Arts Commission<\/strong>, and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theatre Oxford encourages families to come to the play and enjoy the holiday cheer. Additionally, there will be picture opportunities with the cast and Santa after each show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before each show, there will be a holiday art market hosted by the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council in the gallery. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be provided. The market will take place from 11 am\u20137 pm on November 30, from 9 am\u20137 pm on December 1, and from 9 am\u20137 pm on December 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets will be available at the door and seats can be reserved at https:\/\/oxfordarts<\/a>.<\/a>com\/theatreoxford<\/a>. The Powerhouse is located at 413 South 14th<\/sub><\/sup> Street in Oxford (on the corner of University Avenue). Parking is in back near the water tower.
