{"id":131680,"date":"2023-08-25T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-25T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=131680"},"modified":"2023-08-24T18:04:46","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T23:04:46","slug":"university-of-mississippi-records-second-highest-annual-total-for-private-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/university-of-mississippi-records-second-highest-annual-total-for-private-support\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Mississippi Records Second-Highest Annual Total for Private Support"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Now &amp; Ever campaign bolstered by $155.1 million in gifts<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Alumni and friends of the <strong>University of Mississippi<\/strong> stepped up once again in fiscal year 2023, with gifts totaling $155.1 million, the second-highest fundraising year on record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Now &amp; Ever: The Campaign for Ole Miss<\/strong> has reached $1.38 billion of its $1.5 billion goal, the largest-ever fundraising initiative for higher education in <strong>Mississippi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During FY23, which closed June 30, the number of gifts to <strong>Ole Miss<\/strong>, the <strong>University of Mississippi Medical Center<\/strong>, and <strong>Ole Miss Athletics<\/strong> came to 88,755 and the number of donors totaled 24,644, with 5,042 of those being new donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re experiencing tremendous momentum at the University of Mississippi, and this generous level of private support from our devoted alumni and friends plays a\u00a0leading role in our transformational impact,&#8221; Chancellor <strong>Glenn Boyce<\/strong> said. &#8220;It makes it possible to welcome our largest freshman class in history, support faculty research and innovation, prepare\u00a0health care professionals and champion student-athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m excited to see all the ways&nbsp;these significant funds will help build leaders, empower student success and&nbsp;create opportunities.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>UM Foundation<\/strong>, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding this year, manages 1,666 endowments, with 70 new ones added this year. The endowment stands at approximately $840 million with endowed funds held permanently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 11% alumni participation, private giving to Ole Miss fueled meaningful progress across all areas of campus with noteworthy gifts.
