On Tuesday, August 29, 2023<\/strong>, at 5 pm, Cleveland and White will be joined by former Ole Miss All-Americans Jake Gibbs<\/strong>, Mike Dennis<\/strong>, and Todd Wade<\/strong> to sign and discuss the new publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rick Cleveland, the most decorated sportswriter in Mississippi history, wrote in his introduction, \u201cRelatively small and poor and ranked near the bottom in so many statistical categories, the Magnolia State kicks tail when it comes to football talent. About the Authors of The Mississippi Football Book<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rick Cleveland<\/strong>, a native of Hattiesburg<\/strong> and resident of Jackson, has been Mississippi Today<\/em>\u2019s sports columnist since 2016. A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi<\/strong> with a bachelor\u2019s in journalism, Rick has worked for the Monroe (LA) News Star World<\/em>, Jackson Daily News<\/em>, and Clarion Ledger<\/em>. He was sports editor of Hattiesburg American<\/em>, and executive director of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
Rick has been recognized 14 times as Mississippi Sportswriter of the Year (his first was in 1973 at age 20; his fourteenth fifty years later in 2023). He is also the recipient of multiple awards and honors for his reporting and writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neil White<\/strong> lives in Oxford where he operates Nautilus Publishing<\/strong>, writes essays, and teaches memoir writing. His New York Times bestselling memoir, In the Sanctuary of Outcasts<\/em> <\/a><\/strong>(Morrow\/HarperCollins), garnered critical acclaim.
