Ollie Lee Carothers, Jr.<\/strong>, the eldest child of Ollie<\/strong> and Gloria <\/strong>(Taylor<\/strong>) Carothers, Sr.<\/strong>, was born March 2, 1954, in Lafayette County, MS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ollie professed a hope in Christ <\/strong>early in life and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church<\/strong>. He received his education from Oxford City Schools<\/strong> and enlisted in the United States Army<\/strong> in 1972.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of his favorite past times included watching western movies and shows, going to Wal-Mart<\/strong>, listening to old school music, and telling army stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, June 3, 2023, Ollie passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital \u2013 North Mississippi<\/strong> in Oxford<\/strong>, Mississippi<\/strong>. Left to cherish his memories are his grandson, Jaden Carothers<\/strong>; siblings, Bobby Carothers<\/strong>, Ronnie Carothers<\/strong>, David <\/strong>(Dorothy<\/strong>) Carothers<\/strong>, and Coretta Carothers<\/strong> all of Oxford, MS; brother-in-law, Mack Vaughn<\/strong> of Oxford, MS; special friend, Lisa Howorth<\/strong>; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ollie was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Courtney Carothers<\/strong>, and four siblings, Arthur Carothers, Michael Carothers, Teresa Carothers<\/strong>, and Rita Vaughn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
