This old black & white photograph by Bob Davis<\/strong> could be any small-town intersection in the 1950s. But for my generation, that crossroads was ours on our way to town, pedaling our spider bikes. Hundreds of Oxford<\/strong>‘s families got their start in Avent Acres<\/strong>. We were all Avent Park<\/strong> kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curve of Bramlett Boulevard<\/strong> matches the curve of Burney Branch<\/strong>, “the ditch.” The Avent Park pavilion is pictured lower right.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
