There will be a special runoff election in Lafayette County, Mississippi<\/strong> on Tuesday, November 29, 2022<\/strong>, for the newly created County Court Judge<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because none of the eight candidates running received over 50% of the vote, the top two will face off against each other in the runoff election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two who received the most votes on Tuesday, November 8<\/strong> were Carnelia Fondren<\/strong> (2,432 votes – 20%) and Tiffany Kilpatrick<\/strong> (2,160 votes – 18%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Election results include 18 of 18 precincts and absentee ballots. There are about 200 affidavit and five day absentee ballots outstanding, but those won’t change the outcome of the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
