The 11th Annual Oxford Blues Festival<\/strong> will take place October 6\u20138, 2022<\/strong> just off Oxford<\/strong>, Mississippi<\/strong>\u2019s famous Square<\/strong>, at Harrison\u2019s<\/strong> located at 1210 Harrison Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s headliners are the Grammy<\/strong>-nominated artists<\/strong> John Primer<\/mark><\/span><\/a><\/strong> and R.L. Boyce<\/mark><\/span><\/a>,<\/strong> plus \u201cHowl-N-Madd\u201d Bill Perry<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other musicians include Ole Miss<\/strong> Professors Adam Gussow<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Ricky Burkhead<\/strong>, Wendy Garrison<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Steve Brewer<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, and Alan Gross<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also performing are DuWayne Burnside<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Lightnin\u2019 Malcolm<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, “The Great” Effie Burt<\/mark><\/a>, Trent Ayers<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Deak Harp<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Mike Stokes<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Lady Trucker<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Jamie Todd<\/span><\/mark><\/a>, Southern Groove Redemption<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, and Davis Coen<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNorth Mississippi has a really rich blues heritage, but it doesn\u2019t get as much attention as Chicago or the Mississippi Delta,\u201d festival producer Darryl Parker<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis festival is a great way to bring attention to the North Mississippi<\/strong> music scene. Good music, fun with family and friends. It\u2019s a reason to celebrate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mission of the Oxford Blues Festival is to preserve, protect, and promote blues music and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival will kick off on Thursday, October 6, opening with by Jim Milucky<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, Jesse Cotton Stone<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, and \u201cThe Great\u201d Effie Burt<\/a><\/span><\/mark><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday\u2019s music begins at 4:30 pm, and on Saturday, October 8, music begins at 2 pm and runs until 10 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the music, there will be several \u201cBlues Food Walking Tours\u201d on Friday of the festival. Satisfy your stomach and quench your thirst for knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday morning starting at 10 am at Moe\u2019s BBQ<\/strong> is a Blues Harmonica Workshop<\/strong> for beginners and all other levels. This workshop is lead by official Hohner<\/strong> endorser, Adam Gussow<\/span><\/mark><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also on Saturday after the festival from 11 pm until, the music continues with a free \u201cAfter Party Jam Session<\/strong>\u201d at Moes\u2019s BBQ downstairs in The Penny Bar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring your own instrument and sit in and jam with festival musicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
