Her duties will include all administrative, grant writing, and fundraising, as well as overseeing some 30 live shows a year while managing a dozen crew members. O\u2019Brien spent the past decade at <strong>Square Books<\/strong>, eventually becoming the store\u2019s event coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Katelyn-OBrien.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Katelyn-OBrien.jpg?resize=500%2C350\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-121968\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Katelyn-OBrien.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Katelyn-OBrien.jpg?resize=300%2C210&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Katelyn O&#8217;Brien<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tim Lee<\/strong>, a musician and author, is Thacker\u2019s new production director. Lee will oversee the live show, book guests, and organize road performances. Lee has 40 years of touring and booking experience. Along with his wife Susan, the two perform as the rock duo, <strong>Bark<\/strong>, which won the 2020 Contemporary Music Award from the <strong>Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters<\/strong> for their album, <em><strong>Terminal Everything<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Longtime Thacker host, <strong>Jim Dees<\/strong>, is excited about the addition of O\u2019Brien and Lee.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe crew and I look forward to working with both of them,\u201d Dees declared. \u201cThey both have solid experience in areas that can really help the show. From what I\u2019ve seen so far, they\u2019re cooking up an exciting fall.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with Dees, the show\u2019s house band, <strong>The Yalobushwhackers<\/strong>, will also be returning: <strong>Ricky Burkhead <\/strong>on drums, <strong>Slade Lewis<\/strong> on bass, <strong>Mark Yacovone<\/strong> on piano, and <strong>Paul Tate<\/strong> on guitar and vocals. The show\u2019s sound engineers are <strong>Jeffrey Reed<\/strong> and <strong>Blake Gardner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a triumphant show at this year\u2019s <strong>Neshoba County Fair<\/strong> that featured country trio, <strong>Chapel Hart<\/strong>, from NBC\u2019s <em><strong>America\u2019s Got Talent<\/strong><\/em>, Thacker Mountain Radio Hour will perform road shows at the <strong>Mississippi Book Festival<\/strong> in Jackson (August 20) and a sold-out show at the <strong>Walter Anderson Museum<\/strong> in <strong>Ocean Springs<\/strong> (August 27).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxford performances begin on Thursday, September 1, at 6 pm at <strong>The Powerhouse Arts Center<\/strong> (413 S. 14th Street). Admission is free and an after party will follow the season premiere show at 7 pm. That\u2019s the date for the show\u2019s 25th anniversary show.
