On August 18, at 6:30 pm, the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> is excited to host the first C.S.I.<\/strong> class for the L-O-U community. C.S.I. stands for Connecting, Serving, and Investing<\/strong>, which is\u00a0exactly what OPD aims to do with the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be able to start the C.S.I. program this Thursday. This is something we\u2019ve been \u00a0discussing for a long time, and it\u2019s great to see it come to fruition,\u201d said Chief Jeff McCutchen<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first session will be covering a parent\u2019s guide to the effects of social media and cell phone safety \u00a0for youth. We will have presentations that cover social media and its effects on mental health, identifying dangerous activity, online safety, and the preventative measures and resources that are \u00a0available to parents. Drinks and snacks will be provided to anybody that attends. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This class will be a tremendous session to attend for parents who have children that are active on \u00a0social media or using cell phones regularly. We are going to teach tips and tricks to keep students\u00a0safe. In today\u2019s digital world, students are being harassed, stalked, and sexually propositioned online.\u00a0We want to provide families with the tools they need to keep their children safe. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C.S.I. program will be hosted monthly during the school year and cover a different topic each \u00a0session. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
