Stop on South Lamar in Oxford Leads to Arrest of Felon in Possession of a Firearm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On July 14, 2022, an officer with the <strong>Oxford Police Department<\/strong> conducted a traffic stop on\u00a0South Lamar Blvd. for a driver not wearing a seatbelt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After investigation, it was discovered that <strong>Montez Vaughn<\/strong>, 27, of <strong>Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong> was a registered felon and in possession of a firearm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vaughn was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vaughn was taken before a <strong>Lafayette County Justice Court<\/strong> judge for his initial bond hearing and \u00a0issued a $10,000 bond, but the <strong>Mississippi Department of Corrections<\/strong> placed a hold on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a
