{"id":119483,"date":"2022-05-02T17:40:33","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T22:40:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=119483"},"modified":"2022-05-02T17:40:40","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T22:40:40","slug":"oxford-man-arrested-for-aggravated-dui-after-vehicle-leaves-south-lamar-and-strikes-pedestrian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/oxford-man-arrested-for-aggravated-dui-after-vehicle-leaves-south-lamar-and-strikes-pedestrian\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford Man Arrested for Aggravated DUI After Vehicle Leaves South Lamar and Strikes Pedestrian"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On May 1, 2022, at approximately 1:46 am, the <strong>Oxford Police Department<\/strong> responded to the \u00a0area of <strong>South Lamar<\/strong> just south of <strong>Belk Blvd<\/strong> for a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian wreck. \u00a0Officers arrived and began rendering aide to the victim that had been hit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While talking with the \u00a0driver, <strong>Samuel Jared Brown<\/strong> (24 of <strong>Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>), officers suspected he was under the influence. \u00a0Officers also determined that Brown had left the roadway and struck the victim while they were \u00a0walking in the grass. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim was taken to <strong>Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi<\/strong> and subsequently flown to <strong>Regional One Medical Center<\/strong> in <strong>Memphis, Tennessee<\/strong>. He is currently listed in stable condition. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a DUI investigation was completed, Brown was arrested and charged with <strong>Aggravated DUI<\/strong> and open container.
