On April 3, 2022, the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> responded to a 911 call in the 100 block of Creekmore <\/strong>in reference to a disturbance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to patrol\u2019s quick response, all four suspects were\u00a0apprehended within minutes of the call. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After further investigation, Markevius Owten<\/strong>, 22, Marquis\u00a0Handy<\/strong>, 26, both of Oxford<\/strong>, Joshua Handy<\/strong>, 22, of Myrtle, Mississippi<\/strong>, and Nickolus Taper<\/strong>, 21, of Sardis, Mississippi, were all taken into custody and each charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime\u00a0and Burglary\/Home Invasion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All four were taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court<\/strong> judge for their initial bond hearing and\u00a0each issued a $35,000 bond. Owten\u2019s bond was revoked due to him being out on a previous felony \u00a0bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
