On March 5, 2022, the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once\u00a0stopped, an officer with the Oxford Police Department ran the driver\u2019s, Kia Pegues<\/strong>‘, 25, of Oxford<\/strong>, Mississippi<\/strong>,\u00a0information and discovered that Pegues had an active arrest warrant. A firearm was discovered in Pegues\u2019\u00a0vehicle that came back stolen. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pegues was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm and other misdemeanor charges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pegues was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court<\/strong> judge for her initial bond hearing and \u00a0issued a $2,500 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
