On January 20, 2022, the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> responded to County Road 102<\/strong> in reference to\u00a0stolen telephone cable. After investigation, it was discovered over 500 feet of commercial phone cable was missing. On January 24th, Jason Harris<\/strong>, 44, of Water Valley, Mississippi<\/strong> was arrested on a charge of Grand Larceny. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris was issued a $10,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court<\/strong> judge. The Oxford Police Department would like to thank the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Department<\/strong> for assistance in this case. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is still an ongoing investigation and further updates could be released at a later date. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 19, 2022, the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence on County Road 102 for a suspicious \u00a0vehicle. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Clayton Miller<\/strong>, 39, of Drew<\/strong>, Mississippi, was arrested for \u00a0possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A large amount of phone cable was discovered in the back of Miller\u2019s vehicle. On January 20th, officers were called back to CR 102 by AT&T, who reported their phone cable had been cut and stolen. Further investigation led to Miller being charged with Grand Larceny for the theft of the phone cable.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Lafayette County Justice Court Judge issued Miller a $10,000 bond for the charges, $5,000 for each charge.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
