The infant was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Mississippi Medical Examiner\u2019s Office<\/strong> conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death as Fentanyl toxicity. The findings from the autopsy, coupled with the ongoing investigation by the Oxford Police Department, lead to an arrest warrant being issued for Manslaughter &#8211; Culpable \u00a0Negligence for the mother, <strong>Ebonee White<\/strong>, 31, of <strong>Oxford<\/strong>, <strong>Mississippi<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White was taken into custody on December 2, 2021 and taken before <strong>Lafayette County Justice \u00a0Court<\/strong> Judge <strong>Mickey Avent<\/strong>, who issued white a $100,000 bond. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis case highlights why law enforcement has urged our community to stay away from this drug. \u00a0Fentanyl has claimed the lives of too many community members,\u201d said Chief <strong>Jeff McCutchen<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe \u00a0must continue our efforts to combat the access and distribution of Fentanyl on our streets.
