Well you\u2019re in luck, because the fest has created a new series, <strong>OxFilm Presents<\/strong>, which extends the film festival experience beyond the main event. This new monthly arthouse series brings some of this year\u2019s best films from festivals around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, OxFilm Presents brought the<strong> Mississippi<\/strong> premiere of <strong><em>Becoming Cousteau<\/em><\/strong>. The biography of the great underwater explorer <strong>Jacques-Yves Cousteau<\/strong> produced by <strong><em>National Geographic<\/em><\/strong> is now a front-runner for nomination in Best Documentary at the Oscars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, OxFilm Presents a \u201cblast from the past,\u201d the 1991 documentary <strong><em>Deep Blues<\/em><\/strong>. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this film introduced the world to all types of Mississippi and Tennessee blues. The Hill Country Blues is represented by<strong> R.L. Burnside<\/strong> and <strong>Junior Kimbrough<\/strong>. Following the Deep Blues screening, celebrate the legacy of hill country blues with a live performance from <strong>Garry Burnside<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doors open at 7 pm, Deep Blues starts at 7:30 pm followed by Garry Burnside.
