{"id":113034,"date":"2021-08-10T14:39:55","date_gmt":"2021-08-10T19:39:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=113034"},"modified":"2021-08-10T14:39:58","modified_gmt":"2021-08-10T19:39:58","slug":"ocean-springs-physical-therapist-beth-edmiston-appointed-to-mississippi-state-board-of-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/ocean-springs-physical-therapist-beth-edmiston-appointed-to-mississippi-state-board-of-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Ocean Springs Physical Therapist Beth Edmiston Appointed to Mississippi State Board of Health"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Edmiston<\/strong> of<strong> Ocean Springs<\/strong>, <strong>Mississippi<\/strong>, has been appointed by Governor <strong>Tate Reeves<\/strong> to complete the six-year term of <strong>Ed Langton<\/strong> on the <strong>Mississippi State Board of Health<\/strong>. Langton resigned from the Board earlier this year. Edmiston\u2019s term ends June 30, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edmiston received her bachelor of health science degree from the <strong>University of Florida<\/strong> in 1999. She has worked in outpatient physical therapy settings for most of her career, and currently owns <strong>A Core Solution<\/strong> physical therapy in Ocean Springs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have been in the healthcare field for over 22 years as a physical therapist,\u201d she said. \u201cI knew as a young girl I wanted to work as an advocate and a practitioner to assist people in reaching their highest potential in terms of pain-free movement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edmiston is also a Pilates rehab instructor and an active member of numerous community groups in Ocean Springs including the<strong> PTO, High School Football Booster club, First Presbyterian Church, Ocean Springs Athletic Foundation<\/strong>, and a volleyball and basketball coach for the <strong>Parks and Leisure Department<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am honored to serve on the Board of Health so I can be at the center of helping our state achieve the best it can in terms of the well-being of our citizens. I have a passion for health and wellness, and believe as a Board member I can contribute to our state\u2019s policy making to ensure public health protection,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State Health Officer <strong>Thomas Dobbs<\/strong>, MD, MPH, welcomed Edmiston\u2019s addition to the Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeth is very dedicated to serving her community, and in this case, her state.
